Welcome to the web page of Laboratory for Optical Spectroscopy of Nanostructures. The research activity of the Laboratory Group focuses on the studies of optical properties of novel semiconductor materials and nanostructures. Various spectroscopic techniques are developed and used in the investigations of the low-dimensional solid-state phenomena from the point of view of fundamental research as well as modern applications in optoelectronics, photonics and quantum information processing.

The core research conducted currently in the Lab concerns quantum dots, two dimensional electron and hole gases, and new semiconductor-related materials. The performed theoretical and experimental work is based on the tight cooperation of senior scientists, graduate and undergraduate students, and on the collaboration with many academic and independent scientific and industrial institutions world-leading in the fields of the semiconductor physics, technology and devices.
